Local specialties, souvenirs

Takahan Original “Hot Spring Essence” :
This “Hot Spring Essence” is a faithful reproduction of our inn’s natural spring source. It is popular as a souvenir and comes in two types: small sachets for a single bath and a larger size suitable for home use. Enjoy the renowned waters of Takahan in the comfort of your own home.
Komako Mochi:
Named after the heroine of the novel Snow Country, these bite-sized sweets consist of white rice cakes filled with bean paste, dusted with soybean flour, and wrapped in bamboo leaves. You can purchase them in front of “Yukiguni-kan” on Onsen Street. It is also possible to stop by on the way to or from the station; please inform the driver or the front desk.
Minami Uonuma Koshihikari:
It is said that the Koshihikari rice marketed as Uonuma produce is more than ten times the actual production, meaning most of it is counterfeit. Our establishment has worked directly with local farmers for many years to ensure we provide 100% authentic Minami Uonuma Koshihikari rice (produced in the Shiozawa Nishiyama area) in our meals and for sale in our shop. While the price may seem high, we proudly offer this genuine product at a great value, with prices starting from 1,200 yen per kilogram. Up to 30 kilograms is available for purchase.
